The University of Michigan School of Dentistry partners with VINA to establish the second Victors for Veterans clinic in the state under the direction of Dr. Howard A. Hamerink. The program provides completely free dental care and education to veterans in need. To qualify, veterans’ income must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) and must reside in one of seven counties: Livingston, Genesee, Shiawassee, Washtenaw, Jackson, Ingham and Oakland.

VINA hosts University of Michigan Dental School students and faculty dentists to provide dental care to veterans twice a month at the clinic. The students and faculty dentists generously donate their time to the program. The program also refers patients to specialists, as needed, for specialty procedures donated by local dental specialists. These local specialists who generously donate their time and services include Dr. Ken Marriott, Dr. Matt Matuszak, Dr. Bill Metz, Dr. Howard Hamerink, Ward Dental Lab and Ivoclar Vivadent. The program is generously funded by grantors and donors, including but not limited to the Michigan Dental Association Foundation and the Delta Dental Foundation.

Free services for those registered in the clinic include full exams, extractions and oral surgery, root canals, fillings, dentures, crowns, bridges and more. For more information about the Victors for Veterans program and how to enroll, please see the flyer below or call the office.

Thank you all who donate time and services to make this program possible!
